White Wine

A chilled bottle of white wine opens up a whole category of refreshing cocktails beyond just drinking it straight. The classic Spritzer — white wine and sparkling water — is dead simple and perfect for hot days. A Kir adds creme de cassis to dry white wine for something more interesting. Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio work well in cocktails because they’re crisp without being too complex. Don’t spend more than ten or twelve dollars on a bottle you’re going to mix — save the good stuff for the dinner table.
