Triple Sec

Triple sec is an orange-flavored liqueur that originated in France in the mid-1800s. The name means “triple distilled,” though not all brands actually are. It’s a key ingredient in the Margarita, Cosmopolitan, and Long Island Iced Tea. Cointreau and Grand Marnier are premium alternatives — Cointreau is drier and cleaner, while Grand Marnier has a cognac base that adds richness. For mixing, a decent mid-shelf triple sec gets the job done without breaking the bank.
