Tabasco Sauce
A few dashes of Tabasco can transform a Bloody Mary from bland tomato juice into something worth waking up for. Made on Avery Island, Louisiana since 1868, this pepper sauce brings a sharp, vinegary heat that plays well with savory cocktails. Most bartenders keep the original red variety behind the bar, though the chipotle version has its fans. Start with two or three dashes and adjust — you can always add more, but you can’t take it back. Also shows up in oyster shooters and Micheladas.
