Sake

Sake has been showing up on cocktail menus more and more, and for good reason — it’s lower in alcohol than most spirits, which means you can build longer, more sessionable drinks. A Sake Martini (just sake and gin, stirred) is surprisingly elegant. It pairs beautifully with citrus, cucumber, and light fruit flavors. For mixing, grab a decent junmai or junmai ginjo — you don’t need the premium daiginjo. Sake bombs with beer are fun at parties but won’t win you any mixology awards. Keep opened bottles in the fridge and use within a few days.
