Best Peach Schnapps Shots & Shooters: 8 Easy Party Recipes
Read this in: Español · Deutsch · Français · Italiano
Peach schnapps is the workhorse of the party shot. It’s sweet, fruity, and cheap, and it turns cranberry or orange juice into something that disappears far too easily. Half the famous fruity shooters on any bar menu lean on it.
Here are the eight peach schnapps shots everyone asks for, most of them three ingredients or fewer, then four more built around Crown Royal and Chambord. All of them are made for a crowd.
8 peach schnapps shots & shooters
Sex on the Beach

Vodka, peach schnapps, cranberry, and orange juice. The fruity classic, and the shot everyone already knows how to order. See recipe
Pro tip: Shake with ice and strain into shot glasses to pour a whole tray at once.
Woo Woo
Peach schnapps, vodka, and cranberry. Basically a Sex on the Beach without the orange juice, and even faster to make. See recipe
Fuzzy Navel
Peach schnapps, vodka, and orange juice. Three ingredients, impossible to mess up. See recipe
Red-Headed Slut
Peach schnapps, Jägermeister, and a splash of cranberry. The peach softens the Jäger, and it goes down like fruit juice. See recipe
Brain Hemorrhage
Peach schnapps with a slow pour of Irish cream and a drop of grenadine, so the cream curdles into a gruesome look. A Halloween staple. See recipe
Pro tip: Pour the schnapps first, then trickle the Irish cream down the side so it clumps. The grenadine is the finishing “blood.”
Oral Sex on the Beach

Pineapple juice, peach schnapps, blue curaçao, and vodka. The blue curaçao turns it a wild color and adds an orange note. See recipe
Pineapple Bomb

Equal parts pineapple vodka, peach schnapps, and pineapple juice. Tropical and dangerously smooth. See recipe
Fuzzy Nipple

Vodka, peach schnapps, orange juice, and a dash of triple sec. A Fuzzy Navel with a citrus upgrade. See recipe
Four more worth a tray
The first eight run on vodka and juice. These run on Crown Royal and Chambord, which is where the peach schnapps shot ended up once bars got bored of the Fuzzy Navel. If the whisky is the part you like, see our Crown Royal shots roundup.
Catfish

Crown Royal and peach schnapps, 3:1, served chilled and up. The closest thing on this page to a grown-up shot: mostly whisky, with the peach filing down the edges. See recipe
Pro tip: Give the Crown an hour in the freezer first. At 3:1 there isn’t enough schnapps to hide a warm pour.
Royal Flush
Crown Royal, peach schnapps, cranberry, and half an ounce of Chambord. Leave out the Chambord and it’s a Bear Juice; with it, it’s the one bartenders get asked for by name. See recipe
Bruised Heart

Vodka, cranberry, Chambord, and peach schnapps in equal half-ounce pours, stirred over ice and strained. Dark pink, tart, and the tidiest way to finish a Chambord bottle. See recipe
Blonde Headed Slut

Peach schnapps and Grand Marnier, equal parts, with a splash of pineapple. The Red-Headed Slut’s cousin: orange liqueur where the Jäger was, so it’s sweeter, not herbal, and at 40 percent Grand Marnier is stronger than it tastes. See recipe
If you’re missing a bottle
- No peach schnapps. Peach liqueur (Mathilde, Giffard, Combier) is the stand-in. It runs 18 to 25 percent and is less sweet, so use about two-thirds the amount. Apricot brandy also works in the Woo Woo and the Fuzzy Navel.
- No Crown Royal. Any Canadian whisky does the job in the Catfish and the Royal Flush: Canadian Club, Seagram’s VO, Black Velvet. A wheated bourbon is next closest.
- No Chambord. Raspberry schnapps or raspberry vodka in the same measure. Crème de cassis works too and turns the shot a shade darker.
- No Irish cream. Any cream liqueur curdles in a Brain Hemorrhage; the effect only needs dairy hitting the schnapps. RumChata works. So does the supermarket own-brand.
Frequently asked questions
What mixes well with peach schnapps?
Cranberry and orange juice are the staples, but pineapple juice, vodka, Jägermeister, and blue curaçao all work. It’s sweet, so it pairs with tart juices especially well.
What’s the difference between a Woo Woo and a Sex on the Beach?
Both use peach schnapps and vodka with cranberry. The Sex on the Beach adds orange juice; the Woo Woo leaves it out, so it’s sharper and quicker.
Is peach schnapps the same as peach liqueur?
They’re close. Peach schnapps is typically sweeter and lower-proof, while “peach liqueur” can be richer. In these shots they’re interchangeable.
Are peach schnapps shots strong?
Schnapps is fairly low-proof on its own, but most of these add vodka, so they drink stronger than the fruity flavor suggests.
What proof is peach schnapps?
Low. DeKuyper Peachtree, the bottle behind most American bars, is 15 percent alcohol, or 30 proof. A few brands run 20 to 24 percent. That is about a third the alcohol of vodka, which is why nearly every recipe here adds some.
Does peach schnapps need to be refrigerated?
No. The sugar keeps it stable for years on a shelf. It does fade, though, and a bottle in the fridge holds its peach flavor longer and pours colder for shots, so there is no downside if you have the room.
The shelf-life chart for the rest of the back row is in do liqueurs go bad.
Peach schnapps earns its spot on the shelf purely on party duty: it’s the one bottle that turns juice into a tray of shots in under a minute. For taller pours, we keep a separate guide to what to mix with peach schnapps — or dig into more shots and shooters for the next batch.
