Iced Tea

Iced tea as a cocktail mixer is bigger than just the Long Island (which, ironically, contains no tea at all). Real brewed iced tea — black, green, or herbal — adds tannins and depth to spirits. Arnold Palmers spiked with vodka are a summer staple. Sweet tea and bourbon is practically a Southern institution. Brew it strong since ice and other ingredients will dilute it. Unsweetened works best for cocktails because you can control the sugar separately. Peach or raspberry iced tea varieties pair especially well with rum and whiskey.
