Club Soda
Club soda is carbonated water with added minerals (sodium bicarbonate, sodium citrate, potassium sulfate) that give it a slightly salty, mineral taste. It’s the mixer in a Tom Collins, a Vodka Soda, and a Whiskey Highball. Seltzer water is essentially the same thing without the added minerals. In practice, most bartenders use them interchangeably. The key is to add it last and pour gently — you want to keep the fizz.
