Apple Cider
Fall cocktails basically run on apple cider. Warm it with bourbon and cinnamon for a hot toddy variation, or shake it cold with vodka and lemon for something crisp. Fresh-pressed cider from a farmers market is worth seeking out — the cloudy, tart stuff has way more character than the clear filtered juice. It pairs naturally with whiskey, brandy, and rum. Spike a whole pot for a party and you’ll be everyone’s favorite host. Hard cider works too if you want some built-in bubbles. Best between September and December when apples are in peak season.
